Objective:To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of rifampicin and rifapentine on treating pulmonary tuberculosis through meta-analysis and to provide a more reliable and scientific evifence for rifapentine on the clinical treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis. Methods:We ellectrically search Wan Fang Data, Wei Pu Data,Chao Xing Data,PubMed,CNKI,SionMed and The Cochrane Library, the search key terms were:rifapentine, rifampicin, pulmonary tuberculosis, search the public published clinical randomized controlled trials on the treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis with rifampicin and rifapentine totally 18.All the collected studies were analyzed with meta-analysis method by Rev Man 5.3 software.Results:18 RCTs were involved, the total sample cases were 2784,with 1417 cases in the rifapentine treatment group,1367 cases in the rifampicin treatment group. The therapeutic effect index include cavity-closure rate,nidus-absorption rate,bacterium-sputum overcast rate and the OR values were respectively 1.54[95% CI=1.21~1.95],2.06[95% CI=1.31~3.24],2.30[95% CI(1.49-3.54)] the difference had a statistically significance(p<0.05).On safety, the rifampicin and rifapentine group had no significance in joint-pain merely(P>0.05),while in liver function abnormality、rash、 hematoidin、abnormality, decreased WBC、fever、proteinuria、gastrointestinal adverse reaction there had statistically significances(P<0.05).Conclusion:From the results,we can conclude that, compared with rifampicin, rifapentine have an advantage in treating pulmonary tuberculosis on cavity closure, nidus absorption, bacterium sputum overcast, less adverse reaction and better tolerance. The difference had a statistically significance, rifapentine are better than rifampicin on safety.
