Objective:In order to provide a better method of age estimation for forensic dentistry, our study was basically about analyzing the dentine aspartic acid racemization degree to deduce the physiological age of the individual. Methods: The study sample was selected from the patients who visited the orthodontic department at the first affiliated hospital of Xin Jiang medical university during January 2014-September 2014.The sample size was composed of 66 patients ranging from age of 12-32 years.Informed consent was obtained for the orthodontic treatment plan thatneeded extraction of first premolars. After pretreating the tooth sample, the amino acids were extracted and subjected to the gas chromatograph for measuring the amino acid content. The aspartic D/L related value correlation with biological age was analyzed. The aspartic acid D/L related value and individual’s physiological ageregression equation was established. Finally the individual’s actual biological age was computed. Results:Aspartic acid D/L related value showed significant correlation with the biological age(r=0.924).Men and women in this age group showed that there was no statistically significant difference of individual’s physiological age,P=0.368(P>0.05).The maxillary or mandibular teeth chose as a sample for individual’s physiological age estimation which showed no differences in the results,P=0.996(P>0.05).Conclusion:Aspartic acid D/L related value showed significant correlation with the biological age.Using this method, the individual’s physiological age estimation is highly accurate, convenient and simple procedure which can be extensively in our country’s forensic age appraisement, archaeologyical research and other relevant fields.
