Aims:To study the relationship between LP-PLA2 short-term prognosis(mace incident) and coronary heart disease(CHD). Methods:We performed expression analysis of lipoprotein associated phospholipase A2 enzyme(LP-PLA2) on 195 cases of confirmed or suspected CHD patients(110 cases of male, 85 cases of female)that we collected from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanhua University, Shaoyang Central Hospital, People’s Hospital of Shaodong in the period of July 2013 to July 2014. According to clinical manifestations and related inspection, the selected patients were divided into 4 groups: acute myocardial infarction(AMI), unstable angina pectoris(UAP), stable angina pectoris(SAP) and the normal coronary angiography control group. Serum samples were immediately collected to measure the expression level of LP-PLA2, WBC and hs-CRP. Over night fasting serum samples were collected to measure the expression level of LDL, HDL, glucose and other indicators. The patients’ sex, age, blood pressure, body mass index(BMI),mace events within six months and other relevant clinical information were also recorded.Results:1. Patients with AMI, UAP, SAP,normal control group were(382.79 ± 64.38) ng / ml,(350.93 ± 52.69) ng / ml,(278.78 ± 72.44) ng / ml and(229.8±68.26)ng/ml, respectively,(P<0.001).2. Analysis of variance showed that serum LP-PLA2 level was positively correlated with age(r = 0.259, P <0.001), BMI(r = 0.229, P <0.05), hs-CRP(r = 0.683, P <0.001), WBC(r = 0.570, P <0.001), LDL(r = 0.513, P <0.001), and negatively corrected with HDL(r =-0.441, P <0.05).3. LP-PLA2 level in CHD patients with mace events within six months was significantly higher than no-mace incident. LP-PLA2 level was positively correlated with the mace incident,(r=0.538, P <0.001). Conclusions:1. The plasma LP-PLA2 expression level in CDH is significantly higher than the normal control group.2. The plasma LP-PLA2 level is significant correlation with the occurrence of the mace incident, thus may serve as a robust indicator of the prognosis of CHD.
