Objective To find the independent risk factor of dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) with atrial fibrillation (AF).Methods This retrospective cohort analysis included 198 patients with a diagnosis of DCM in our hospital from January 2005 to september 2013.64 patients with AF were selected as observation group, and the rest 134 patients with sinus rhythm were selected as control group. On the base of clinical data, logistic analyses were used to establish its independent risk factors. Results Univariate analyses showed that age, Fractional shortening, Ejection fraction, left ventricular end-systolic diameters, Pulmonary arterial hypertension, Left atrial diameter and Activated partial thromboplastin time in the observation group were increased significantly than that in the control group (P<0.05). Logistic analyses showed that Left atrial diameter was an independent factor. Conclusion Left Atrial diameter was an independent factor of DCM with AF. AF group compared with SR group, Left atrial diameter was greater(P<0.05), left ventricular ejection fraction and fractional shortening increased(P<0.05), left ventricular end- systolicdiameter smaller (P<0.05), the levels of C-reactive protein higher, pulmonary artery pressurehigher(P<0.05), and the levels of N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide and left ventricular end-diastolic diameterwere similar in both groups(P>0.05). It is necessary to be alert when this indicator is abnormal in the clinical treatment and take drugs as early as possible to prevent of atrial fibrosis and reduce the occurrence of AF.
