Objective: To investigate the antibiotic sensitivity and mec A/ica A/ica D status of 130 cases of Staphylococcus epidermidis(SE) in the first affiliated hospital of Bengbu medical college in 2013.Methods: 1. The clinical distribution and drug resistance of hospitalized patients and outpatients infected with Staphylococcus epidermidis was investigated in the first affiliated of Bengbu medical college in 2013.For some Staphylococcus epidermidis, mec A,ica A and ica D were detected by PCRs.2. After Staphylococcus epidermidis were collected and identified,French Merieux VITEK2-compact microbiology analyzer was used for identifying organisms and detecting antibiotic sensitivity,Bacterial susceptibility was according to the standards of CISI2013.Quality control strain was ATCC25923.And polymerase chain reaction(PCR) was carried out for analyzing the resistant genes. Results: The 130 SE strains were mainly isolated from Surgical(24.61%). ICU Branch(17.69%). Pediatrics(13.85%), infectious Diseases(12.31%), While the 130 strains were mainly isolated from blood, marrow and CSF(113,86.92%). Among these strains, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus epidermidis(MRSE) accounted for 84.62%. The resistance rates of MRSE were significantly higher than those of methicillinsusceptible. Staphylococcus epidermidis(MSSE) to the above antibiotic(P<0.05). The antibiotic with high sensitive rates for MRSE were vancomycin(100%), linezolid(100%), rifampin(98.18%), nitrofurantoin(77.27%), moxifloxacin(72.73%), gentamincin(70.00%). There were no statistically significant differences between SE isolated blood and non-blood in the rates of mec A,ica A or ica D genes. Conclusion: 1. Most of Staphylococcus epidermidis are MRSE in the first affiliated hospital of Bengbu medical college.2. No strain of Staphylococcus resistant to Vancomycin was found.3. Staphylococcus epidermidis show high incidence of mecA gene and low incidence of ica A/ica D genes in this study.
