Backgrounds:As the most common cancer in women of China, breast cancer is a serious threat to women’s health. The main principle of the treatment is the surgery combined with chemotherapy, radiotherapy, endocrine therapy and gene therapy. However, the drug applied in chemotherapy can be toxic to the heart during the treatment. As a method of the detection of cardiac toxicity, electrocardiogram(ECG) have been widely approved across the world. However, the effect on the ECG changes by the surgery is rarely reported. Objective:Through the observation and analysis on the changes of ECG in 114 cases before and after breast surgery, combined with the clinical manifestations and laboratory examination results, improve the understanding of postoperative ECG changes and provide references for the next step of clinical treatment.Methods:114 cases were collected between June and December 2014 which were diagnosed and treated at the department of Breast Surgery of Qilu hospital, aged 25-78 years old(averaging 47.5 years old), including 14 cases of benign breast disease,100 cases of breast cancer. Research Methods:the ECGs were recorded before and after the surgery within a week, using the machine of Japanese photoelectric Cardiofax type ECG-9620p 12 leads ECG analyzer(indexes:the PR interval, QRS duration, QT interval, P axis, QRS axis, T axis, RV5 voltage, SV1 voltage, RV5+SV1, clock rotation, etc). All the data was managed and analyzed by SPSS Statistics 16.0.114 cases were collected between June and December 2014 which were diagnosed and treated at the department of Breast Surgery of Qilu hospital, aged 25~78 years old(averaging 47.5 years old), including 14 cases of benign breast disease,100 cases of breast cancer. All the data was managed and analyzed by SPSS Statistics 16.0.Results:1.Statistical difference are found in QT intervals, which get shorter after the surgery (P = 0.034).2. Left axis deviation of P axis is observed after the surgery (P=0.025).3. Postoperative RV5 voltage is higher than before by statistical difference (P=0.026).4. Two factors which related to the changes of QT intervals are detected:menarche time (P=0.005) and history of diabetes (P=0.028).5. After the surgery, among the patients with breast cancer,24 cases have clockwise ration,9 cases have counterclockwise rotation,67 cases have no clockwise rotation. Conclusion:This clinical study examined 114 cases with breast diseases by paired T test, in which 14 benign cases have no statistical difference found before and after the surgery. QT intervals, RV5 voltages, P axis have statistical differences with the measurements before surgery in 100 malignant cases. Two related factors of QT intervals were found by Chi-square test. After the surgery, among the patients with breast cancer,24% have clockwise ration,9% have counterclockwise rotation,67% have no clockwise rotation.
