A Study About The Law Of The Medication In Stomachache Medical Record Of The Ming Qing Dynasty

BackgroundStomachache is a common and frequently-occurring disease, Traditional Chinese medicine has a long history, rich experience, curative effect and unique clinical advantage on stomachache treatment. Stomachache has more incentive and easy to relapse, But from the previous to the present, the syndrome differentiation and classification of stomachache is complex, the drug varieties is wide, systematic summary for medication rule of Stomachache has not yet formed. During the Ming and Qing dynasty, Chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment of Stomachache has basically formed a complete system. With the development of economy and printing, numerous kinds, rich in content, and complete records have been retained, which contribute to collect and summarize previous experiences.ObjectiveThe purpose of the article is to study Chinese medicine academic better, to succeed and develop the theory of stomachache treatment, especially that of the late Qing dynasty and the period of the republic of China. So that we can guide syndrome differentiation of stomachache treatment better and provide new ideas and information for future research and clinical treatment.MethodsBased on 《Chinese Medicine》 and the library of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine as a platform, collecting stomachache cases in the Ming and Qing dynasty, we arranged the prescriptions and medications in these cases, created database and analyzed with statistical methods of frequency analysis and cluster analysis. With Statistical methods for frequency, correlation and cluster analysis, we tried to explore the medication law and characteristics of treatment of stomachache and protocol basic formula applying in clinic.ResultsThis research adopts 24 works within 190 cases,128 medical records of clinical symptoms,479 times of symptoms of total frequency on diagnosis and treatment of Stomachache in Ming and Qing dynasty. The common symptoms are: abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal distension, stay, yellow greasy moss, pulse string abdominal pain, fever, rash, cough, urinating short yellow, irregular stomachache. All 13 symptoms,58.2% of the total. Involving 174 drugs,1406 times of drug use frequency,20 drugs according to function classification. Including qi-regulating drug, qi-tonifying drug, damp-clearing drug, antipyretic, interior-warming drug, hematinic, expectorant cough suppressant and anti-asthmatic drug, blood-activating and stasis-eliminating compound, jiebiao drug, huashi drug and xiaoshi drug total 11 drugs the cumulative frequency up to 90.1%. High frequency of drug use is given priority to temperature and small cold, flat, channel tropism to the spleen, stomach, lung, liver. Correlation analysis of high-frequency drugs prompt that there is a correlation among poria cocos and dried tangerine or orange peel, atractylodes, alisma; dried tangerine or orange peel and pinellia tuber; licorice root and atractylodes, ginseng, dried ginger, etc. Card type and drug related analysis prompt that there is a correlation among Hot and humid card indicates lag and sophora japonica, Oriental arborvitae, big belly skin, while Blood stasis to treat with peach kernel, safflower, amber, rhizoma zedoariae, wood, platycladi seed has correlation. The Correlation analysis of symptoms and medicine shows that:there is a correlation among moss yellow greasy, mouth do litter; pulse slip and rhizoma atractylodis; urinating short yellow and lilac pink; bloody and sophora japonica, priental arborvitae, herba schizonepetae, cortex moutan, hot flashes sweat out and talc; thin and chlorite schist; urination and cattail pollen.ConclusionDuring Ming and Qing Dynasty, the definition of stomachache was known clearly. Located in the spleen and stomach, closely related with liver and lung, the disease is resulted from qi stagnation, qi deficiency, feeling cold and hot product, blood clotting, phlegm obstruction, insects, blood deficiency, etc. Stomachache pathogenesis is given priority to with disorder of qi activity, and spleen deficiency, and clip stasis phlegm dampness, blood stasis, dyspepsia pathological products, and other pathological role in the plot. "It is the obstruction that causes the pain". Commonly used drugs are poria cocos, dried tangerine or orange peel, liquorice, atractylodes, pinellia, angelica sinensis, rhizoma coptidis, ginseng, evodia rutaecarpa, radix aucklandiae, sichuan and fruit, rhizoma corydalis, radix paeoniae alba, etc.
