Objective: Studying of the risk factors that associated with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy with scoliosis will provide basis of diagnosing the disease.Method: Select 200 hundred people who is diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, 79 of them had complications with scoliosis which is the experimental group, and the rest of 121 people are in the control group. Analyzing Duchenne muscular dystrophy with scoliosis associated risk factors by using the single factor chi-square test and the multi-factor Logistic regression.Result: Multiple-factor analysis showed that asymmetry of lower limb strength(OR=3.545, 95 CI : 1.242 ~ 10.115); difficulty of working independently(OR=16.688,95CI:5.036~55.297); inconsistency of doing physical therapy(OR=0.068,95CI:0.015~0.305); contracture of achilles tendon that formed clubfoot(OR=1.597,95CI:0.462~5.524); and untreated by hormone therapy(OR=1.464,95CI:1.437~5.439).Conclusion: Asymmetry of lower limb strength; difficulty of working independently; inconsistency of doing physical therapy; contracture of achilles tendon that formed clubfoot; and untreated by hormone therapy are the risk factors of Duchenne muscular dystrophy with complication ofscoliosis. Patients who have Duchenne muscular dystrophy and associated with these risk factors should be monitored closely to prevent the complication of scoliosis or other adverse effects.
