| Objective Through retrospectively analyzing a case of abdominal wall mixed malignant germ cell tumor who treated in The First Affiliated Hospital Of Guangxi Medical University in 2014, and reviewing literature, to summarizing some experience about the diagnosis and management of extragonadal germ cell tumor patients, and these experience may provide some helps for clinicians.Methods Introducing one case of abdominal wall mixed malignant germ cell tumor, and combining with relative literature. Analyzing the diagnosis and treatment of this case through introducing the pathogenesis, clinical manifestation, auxiliary examination, diagnosis and treatment.Result Abdominal wall mass is not uncommon in clinic, but it’s prone to misdiagnosis because the lack of typical symptoms. Germ cell tumors can be primary in the abdominal wall, histopathologic examination is the gold standard for diagnosis, the survival rate of extragonadal germ cell tumors is different in the related research, through complete resection, postoperative with platinum based chemotherapy, may significantly improve the prognosis of patients.Conclusion The etiological factors of extragonadal germ cell tumor are unknown. The clinical diagnosis is mainly based on the patient history, serum tumor makers(for example, HCG and AFP), however,the confirmed diagnosis is still based on pathological examination. The extragonadal germ cell tumors is high malignant, and the prognosis of this disease is promising Surgery is the first line of choice for this type of disease with the option of chemotherapy and radiotherapy as the adjunctive treatment. The correct diagnosis and the evaluation before treatment are important to standardizing treatment, which can avoid misdiagnosis and mistreatment. Combination operation and chemotherapy can significantly improve the prognosis of the patients. |
