Objective:To investigate the relationship between cerebral hemorrhage as well as ischemia and Suzuki’s stages in adults with moyamoya diseasa(MMD).Methods:A retrospective analysis of the clinical data and iconography results of all 74 adult patients conformed with moyamoya disease, who were diagnosed in First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University from January of 1998 to March of 2015.The percentage of number of hemispheres with ischemia or hemorrhage events among the paired groups were analyzed respectively with changes of the Suzuki’s stages. The NIHSS scores of patients in each group were compared according to the Suzuki’s stages, and used to investigate the relationship between Suzuki’s stages and the neurologic deficit severity of first onset.Results:1.There were no differentce between the ischemia group and the hemorrhage group among the Suzuki’s stages.2.The TIA group and the cerebral infarction group had a different distribution among the Suzuki’s stages.3.The NIHSS score has no difference between the ischemia group and the hemorrhage group among the Suzuki’s stages. Conclusion:The occurrence of intracranial ischemia or hemorrhage in adult moyamoya disease had no significant in the Suzuki’s stages. In Suzuki’s stages 2~4, apparent moyamoya vessels indicates a higher possibility of intracranial hemorrhage. In ischemic moyamoya disease, a higher Suzuki’s stage means more severe vascular occlusion and less vascular compensation indicated a higher possibility of brain infarction.
