Objective TO evaluate the role of endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) for enlarged mediastinal lymph nodes. Methods From April 2013 to June 2014,30 patients with CT scan demonstrating enlarged mediastinal lymph nodes underwent EBUS-TBNA. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value were evaluated. Results All the 30 patients underwent EBUS-TBNA successfully, and had no complication. Twenty-four patients had positive results. In the EBUS-TBNA on the diagnosis of mediastinal diseases, the sensitivity and negative predictive value were 85.7%and 33.6%, In the EBUS-TBNA on the diagnosis of maligents diseases, the sensitivity and negative predictive value were 85.1% and 20%, There was also no difference between EBUS-TBNA and CT. While for the diagnosis of lung cancer, The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value were 95%,100%,100%,88.9%respectively.Conclusion EBUS-TBNA is a effective and safe method for the diagnosis of the mediastinal diseases and lung cancer. |
