At present, impacted and embedded teeth extraction is one of the most important operation in oral and maxillofacial surgery, which is hard and accompanied with many complications. With the development of surgical technic, minimally invasive extraction instrument and Radiologic diagnosis are processing. The application of minimally invasive extraction has a bright future. For the extraction of embedded teeth, finding the precise location is the primary condition and the fundamental basis of choosing the first direction of operation. Using minimally invasive extraction instrument can simplify the operation procedures and shorten operation time. Meanwhile, it can also relieve the pain, swelling and hardship of opening mouth. The purpose of the part one: to evaluate the effect of mandibular impacted teeth extraction with dental high speed air turbine cutting handpiece and surgery bur. The purpose of the part two: to evaluate the clinical effect of cone beam CT in the localization of frontal bone embedded teeth. Methods The part one: This study includes 120 patients from Anhui stomatology hospital whose third molar teeth were extracted. These patients are randomly divided into two groups:the experimental group and control group. The control group was treaded using tradition chisel splint method, meanwhile the experimental group was treaded by dental high speed air turbine cutting handpiece and the bur. Evaluate the probability of dental root fracture and lower lip numbness, swelling, pain and hardship of opening mouth in the consultation after the surgery. The part two: Choose 18 patients from Anhui stomatology hospital maxillofacial surgery ward who have embedded teeth in their jaw. Compare the location found through CBCT image and the actual location in clinical operation. Result The part one: The comparison of swelling, pain and hardship of opening mouth between two groups was made. There were significant differences in two methods. The part two: the location found through CBCT image and the actual location in clinical operation have no difference. Conclusion The part one: dental high speed air turbine cutting handpiece and surgery bur perform better in mandibular impacted teeth extraction and it is worthy to be promoted and studied in clinic treatment. The part two: The cone-beam CT can find the location of embedded teeth precisely and should be popularly used clinicly.
