Heart rate variability (HRV) is closely related to human cardiovascular disease. Compared with other physiological parameters, HRV is more accurate and reliable to evaluate autonomic nervous function and heart beat regulation, which is a simple and reliable cardiac autonomic function testing and evaluation method and has become a hot topic in current medical research. This paper mainly studies the influence of congestive heart failure and natural aging heart failure on heart rate variability. The heartbeat interval data is derived from the international database of healthy elderly people, young people and patients with congestive heart failure. In order to find the difference between the three groups of data, we use the method of frequency statistics and research on the characteristics of the network (the assortative mixing) on the two parameters of amplitude and time which represent two states of adjacent heartbeat interval. Furthermore, to study the numerical changes in different physiological and pathological conditions, we quantitative statistical the time, amplitude, speed of three sets of HRV data which based on the time domain analysis method. In addition, this paper will take the Zipf’s law and Heaps’ law applied to the analysis of HRV data. The analysis results show that:1. The rise and fall of the amplitude and time for CHF patients were less than two groups of healthy people, and the rise and fall of speed for the elderly is significantly less than the young people which similar to CHF patients.2. The complex dynamics of the CHF patients heart less than healthy people, and the complex dynamics of the natural heart failure in the elderly is less than healthy young people. We know congestive heart failure and heart failure will lead to decline of autonomic nervous function, which leads to the decline in the function of the control of heart. In some respects, effect of congestive heart failure and natural heart failure on the autonomic nervous system have some different. In addition, the results prove that the Zipf’s law and the Heaps’ law applicable to HRV data analysis. And it can well evaluate the human dynamic complexity in different physiological, pathological condition.
