Objective:The study aims to observe the clinical efficacy of Gui xiang San on treating Comedomastitis. After the observation of the clinical efficacy and the test analyze about the High sensitivity C-reactive protein(Hs-CRP), the pathogenesis of Comedomastitis and the mechanism of applying Gui xiang San into the treatment of Comedomastitis will be discussed, which will provide theoretical basis for clinical medication.Methods: Set 40 people diagnosed with Comedomastitis as patients and divided them into two groups(under the principle of randomness). The treatment group included 15 patients, who were given Gui xiang San(grounded into powder, dissolved in vinegar and applied on the skin, twice a day, in the morning and at night, each six to eight hours) and basic therapy(internal Chinese medicine practices with vomicapuncture or the treatment of abscess incision and drainage when it is necessary) for 4 weeks as a period of treatment. Another group was the control group, including 25 patients, who were given basic therapy(internal Chinese medicine practices with vomica puncture or the treatment of abscess incision and drainage when it is necessary) for 4 weeks as a period of treatment. Observed and recorded the High sensitivity C-reactive protein(Hs-CRP,in blood serum) and the symptom integrals of the treatment group before the treatment, 4 weeks after the treatment and 8 weeks after the treatment, and their tumor sizes before the treatment and 4 weeks after the treatment. Meanwhile, observed and recorded the symptom integrals,High sensitivity C-reactive protein and tumor sizes of the control group before treatment and 4 weeks after the treatment. Then the comparison of clinical datas within and between the two groups was made.Results:1. The clinical curative effect(1) The comparison of symptom integrals: the symptom integrals of the treatmentgroup after 4 weeks treatment reduced significantly compared with that before the treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.01); the symptom integrals of the control group reduced significantly compared with that before the treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.01). The difference between the symptom integrals of the treatment group before the treatment and that after the treatment was distinct from the difference of the control group, which was statistically significant(P < 0.05). The symptom integrals of the treatment group after 8 weeks treatment changed significantly compared with that after 4 weeks of the treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.01).(2) The comparison of treatment effect: After 2 weeks of treatment, there was 1 invalid(6.67%), 3 effective(20.00%), 6 remarkably improved(40.00%), 5 cured in the treatment group(33.33%) and the total effective rate was 93.3%. As for the control group, there were three invalid(12%), 13 effective(52.00%), 7 remarkably improved(28.00%), 2 cured(8.00%) and the total effective rate was 88.00%. After the comparison of and analysis of the two groups after 4 weeks treatment with the method of rank-sum test, we found that the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).2. The comparison of inflammation indexThe comparison within one group: the Hs-CRP of the treatment group after 4 weeks’ treatment reduced remarkably compared with that before the treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.01); the Hs-CRP of the treatment group after 8 weeks’ treatment has reduced compared with that after 4 weeks’ treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.01). The High sensitivity Hs-CRP of the control group after 4 weeks’ treatment has reduced compared with that before the treatment, and the different was statistically significant(P < 0.01). The comparison between the two group: the differences of the Hs-CRP of the two groups varied before the treatment and after 4 weeks of treatment, and the different was statistically significant(P < 0.05).ConclusionGui xiang San for external use has significant effect in treatment of Comedomastitis, it can decrease the size of inflammatory breast mass, and improve the clinical symptom of the patients. Meanwhile, it is found that the patients have significant reduction in Hs-CRP level in serum after treatment, so we consider it has better efficacy in treatment of Comedomastitis, worth clinical promotion. The change of Hs-CRP level in patients with Comedomastitis can be considered as one of lab index of prognosis of disease.
