ObjectiveTo evaluate the effect of chiropractics on growth and serum leptin in preterm with low birth weight.Methods60 preterm with low birth weight were divided into control group (n=30) and observation group (n=30). The control group was given routine nursing. The observation group was given chiropractics. The serum leptin level of 0 months (Third day of birth) and 1 months were compared between the two groups. The weight, height, head circumference and chest circumference of 0 months (Third day of birth),1 months,2 months,3 months,4 months,5 months, and 6 months were compared between the two groups.Results(1) At 0 months (Third day of birth),. the serum leptin level of two groups was no significant differences(P>0.05). At 1 months, the serum leptin level of observation group respectively was (3.1±0.3) u g/L, those in control group respectively was (2.5±0.3)μg/L, showed significant differences between the two groups (P<0.05). (2) At 0 months (Third day of birth), the weight of two groups was no significant differences(P>0.05). At 1 months,2 months, 3 months,4 months,5 months, and 6 months, the weight of observation group respectively was (2955.5±154.3) g, (3645.6±130.9) g, (4366.2±144.7) g, (4995.5±147.6) g, (5730.4±124.4) g and (6499.3±116.5) g, those in control group respectively was (2838.8±156.5)g, (3560.6±123.8) g, (4218.4 ±174.9) g, (4914.3±159.5) g, (5628.3±123.6) g and (6416.1±188.3) g, showed significant differences between the two groups (P<0.05). (3) At 0 months (Third day of birth), the height of two groups was no significant differences (P>0.05). At 1 months,2 months,3 months,4 months,5 months, and 6 months, the height of observation group respectively was (51.7±1.0) cm, (55.1±1.1) cm, (59.0±1.4) cm, (62.3±0.9)cm, (65.3±1.1) cm and (66.9±1.0)cm, those in control group respectively was (50.7±1.6)cm, (54.2 ±1.5) cm, (58.1±1.0) cm, (61.2±1.6) cm, (64.4±1.5) cm and (65.9± 1.4) cm, showed significant differences between the two groups (P<0.05). (4) At 0 months (Third day of birth), the head circumference of two groups was no significant differences (P>0.05). At 1 months,2 months,3 months,4 months, 5 months, and 6 months, the head circumference of observation group respectively was (35.2±0.9) cm, (37.7±1.2) cm, (40.0±1.1) cm, (40.3± 0.8)cm, (42.3±0.9)cm, and (44.4±0.9)cm, those in control group respectively was (34.3±1.1) cm, (36.8±1.8) cm, (38.8±1.0) cm, (39.6±1.0) cm, (41.5 ±0.9) cm and (43.5±0.8) cm, showed significant differences between the two groups (P<0.05). (5) At 0 months (Third day of birth), the chest circumference of two groups was no significant differences(P>0.05). At 1 months,2 months, 3 months,4 months,5 months, and 6 months, the chest circumference of observation group respectively was (34.5±0.7) cm, (36.4±0.7) cm, (37.3 ±0.7)cm, (39.5±0.7)cm, (41.5±0.8) cm and (42.0±0.9)cm, those in control group respectively was (33.6±1.2)cm, (35.8±0.7)cm, (36.6±0.8)cm, (38.5 ±0.8) cm, (40.9±0.8) cm and (41.4±0.7) cm, showed significant differences between the two groups (P<0.05). (6) Repeated measure ANOVA showed significant compared with the two groups of preterm with low birth weight weight, height, head circumference and chest circumference of the time factor (P<0.05); the differences between the two groups is significant (P<0.05).ConclusionUsing chiropractics on preterm with low birth weight, can effectively improve serum leptin level, enhance growth, worthy of clinical popularization and application. |
