Abstract/Summary:
ObjectiveTo analysis the clinical features, treatment and risk factors for the prognosis of systemic lupus erythematosus associated aplastic anemia(SLEAAAA).MethodsA total of 46 SLEAAA cases including the searched 41 cases and 5 cases in our institute hospital were enrolled into this study. By comparing the 46 SLEAAA with 24 AA cases we discussed the pathogenesis, the clinical features, the therapies and the prognosis of SLEAAA. Calculations were performed using SPSS 17.0 ststistical software packages. The analysis of measurement data was made by t test and ANOVA. Mono-factor analysis was made by the χ2 test as appropriate.ResultsSLEAAA had a lower level of WBC、ANC and LY than AA, but there was no difference in the searched SLEAAA, the SLEAAA in our institute hospital and AA. SLEAAA had higher lymphocyte percentage in bone marrow and lower erythroid cell percentage in bone marrow than AA. However, the searched SLEAAA had a lower level of granulocyte percentage and lymphocyte percentage in bone marrow. There was no difference between the SLEAAA in our institute hospital and AA. The efficiency was same in SLEAAA and AA. The patients who complicated neuropsychiatric systemic lupus erythematosus(NPSLE) and had high SLEDAI score tended to get poor outcomes. The sequence of SLE and AA, the medical history, complicating lupus nephritis and the type of AA were unrelated to the efficiency.ConclusionThere was no difference between SLEAAA and AA of the clinical features and the bone marrow biopsy. It is hard to distinguish SLEAAA and AA by the clinical features and the bone marrow biopsy. The main therapy of SLEAAA was corticosteroids alone or with other immunosuppressants, and the response was same in SLEAAA and AA. Patients who complicated neuropsychiatric lupus and had high SLEDAI score tended to get poor outcomes.
