ObjectiveCirrhosis is a common pathological outcome of many chronic liver diseases.It manifests that extra cellular matrix continually and diffusely deposit in liver leading to the structure and function of the liver tissue damaged.Clinical and basic research suggests that part of the early cirrhosis can be reversed through early diagnosis and effective treatment.As a kind of antiviral drugs, enticavir possesses a role of rapid and potent anti HBV replication.But previous literature seldom reported the effect that entecavir can reduce the degree of the liver fibrosis in patients with early cirrhosis. Acoustic structure quantification is a new technology of ultrasonic imaging objective,noninvasive and with high repeatability,based on the raw liver parenchyma echo signal quantitative analysis. This study aims to evaluate the treatment value of entecavir to the early cirrhosis using quantitative acoustic structure technology and provide meaningful parameters for clinical diagnosis and treatment of liver fibrosis.MethodsThirty-eight healthy volunteers(control group) and forty-seven patients with histologically proved early cirrhosis were examined by ASQ before the oral treatment of entecavir and one year after. The original ultrasonic echo signal of the liverparenchyma was analyzed. The chi-square histogram and relevant parameters(Red Mode,Red Ave,Red SD,Blue Mode,Blue Ave,Blue SD and BR ratio) were recorded and comparatively analyzed.ResultsBefore the treatment,the red and blue curve of the experimental group patients was obviously more rough and broaden than the control group,area under the blue curve larger.The red and blue curve of the experimental group patients tended smooth and sharp,area under the blue curve smaller. Statistically significant differences in Red Mode,Red Ave,Red SD,Blue Mode,Blue Ave,Blue SD and BR ratio were found between control group and early cirrhosis group.(P<0.01) After the treatment,The Red Mode,Red Ave,Blue Mode,Blue Ave, and BR ratio were smaller than before,the differences was statistically significant(P<0.05),but not in Red SD and Blue SD.ConclusionEntecavir can reduce the degree of fibrosis of the early liver cirrhosis. Acoustic Structure Quantification(ASQ) is a new technology for the detection of early cirrhosis. It has certain application value in the quantitative assessment of early cirrhosis.ASQ technique has a certain value for evaluation of entecavir to treat early liver cirrhosis.
