Objective:To assess the association of Na+-K+-ATPase and Calcitonin gene-related peptide in seminal plasma with sperm quality in adult males. Methods:According to the standard of the fifth edition of WHO human semen examination and treatment of Laboratory Manual",infertile patients were randomly recruited and divided into five groups such as Azoonspermia group Spermacrsia group oligoasthenospermia group asthenospermia group and necrozoospermia group.Other fertile men were collected as the controls. The sperm parameters were detected by computer assisted sperm analysis. The levels of Na+-K+-ATPase and Calcitonin gene-related peptide in seminal plasma were detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. Results:The concentration of Na+-K+-ATPase of seminal plasma in asthenospermia group oligoasthenospermia group azoospermia group necrozoospermia group Spermacrasia group normal group was no statistically significant diffrences(P> 0.05).In addition the concentration of Calcitonin gene-related peptide of seminal plasmain asthenospermia group, oligoasthenospermia group, azoospermia group, necrozoospermia group, Spermacrasia group, and normal group was no statistically significant diffrences(P>0.05).The concentration of Na+-K+-ATPase of seminal plasma of infertile patients in≥25~<30 years group≥30~≤35 years group>35~ ≤40 years group and> 40~≤51 years group had no significant difference among the groups(P> 0.05).The concentration of Calcitonin gene related peptide of seminal plasma of infertile patients had no significant difference among the groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:1. The concentration of Calcitonin gene related peptide in the seminal piasma may be not correlation with quality of sperm.2. The concentration of Na+-K+-ATPase in seminal plasma may have no correlation with quality of sperm.3. The concentration of Calcitonin gene related peptide and Na+-K+-ATPase in the seminal plasma may have no correlation with age.
