Post-cardiac arrest syndrome(PCAS) is acute and severe clinical disease, which is the acute shortage of cardiac arrest(CA) after cardiopulmonary resuscitation after return of spontaneous circulation after the body(restoration of spontaneous circulation, ROSC)arising blood- reperfusion injury syndrome, involves a complex series of pathophysiological changes of state. Without timely treatment, clinical high fatality. The reason for this low survival rate is extremely complex,in order to improve survival, the need to support and early intervention line, and the current clinical treatment mainly measures are general monitoring, optimizing treatment of early hemodynamic, oxygenation and ventilation, mild hypothermia therapy, sedation, control and prevention of epilepsy, glycemic control, etc. But still no significant improvement in survival of hospitalized patients discharged from hospital. Which hypothermia is the only proven effective measures for the protection of the brain, is the current hot topic, but there are still a lot of controversy. Due to PCAS high mortality and neurological morbidity, it needs by some of the relevant factors and scoring methods to make a clinical judgment to assess the prognosis of patients with PCAS to guide the diagnosis and treatment of clinical work, while reducing unnecessary treatment for the patient’s family the enormous burden. Through literature review, to do a review on the clinical progression and prognostic factors after cardiac arrest syndrome.
