Objective To study the merit and demerit of early stage cranioplasty with CTperfusion of cerebral blood flow before and after prophase cranioplasty. Methods By using perfusion CT, the changes of regional cerebral bloodvolume in20patients undergoing early cranioplasty were detected1-2days beforeand10-14days after surgery. The quantity of cerebral blood flow was analyzed atthe injured side cortex, contralateral cortex, basal nuclei and thalamus. Results The injured side and opposite volume of regional cerebral bloodbefore cranioplasty had no statistical significance. The after surgery CBF andCBV of injured side cortex increased with opposite side cortex with statisticalsignificance(P<0.05).The other volume after surgery had no statisticalsignificance. The CBF and CBV of normal cortex before surgery compare withthose after surgery had no statistical significance(P<0.1). The after surgeryCBF and CBV of injured side cortex increased with the same regional beforesurgery with statistical significance(P<0.05).The before surgery TTP increasedwith that after surgery with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion The early cranioplasty(in2months) ameliorate the cerebral bloodvolume of injured side, and then ameliorate nerve function.
