Objective:To assess the value of the modified Mallampati score, theupper lip bite test, thyromental distance, interincisor gap, neckmovement in diagnosis of difficult airway with Meta analysis. Methods:Articles of the modified Mallampati score, the upper lipbite test, thyromental distance, interincisor gap, neck movement indiagnosis of difficult airway published in English or Chinese from Jan2003to Dec2013were collected, and Cormack and Lehnane’s grading3-4and (or) IDS>5were taken as golden standards. The sensitivity, specificity, summary receiver operating characteristic (SROC) curves, area under the curve (AUC) and the heterogeneity were calculated withsoftware of Meta-DiSc1.4and STATA12.0. Results:The result s of Metaanalysis from30selected articals showed that Mallampati score had thehighest pooled sensitivity [0.66,(0.64-0.68)]; the upper lip test hadhighest pooled specificity [0.96,(0.96-0.97)]. The AUC and Q*of neckmovement was0.9384,0.8729.The DOR of ULBT was19.83(9.29-42.31)。Conclusion:Neck movement is a high accuracy diagnostic tool fordetecting difficult airway. The upper lip bite test has Higher capacity ofjudging on digicult airway。...
