Objective To investigate the clinical application results of reversed sural neurovascularfasciocutaneous flap in reconstructed the soft-tissue defect after the lateral approach forcalcaneal fractures. Methods From January2012, April2013, using the patients after sural neurovascularretrograde fascial pedicle flap26cases of calcaneal fractures lateral approach surgerycomplicated by skin and soft tissue defects.16males and10females; aged21to58years,mean316years old. All patients had lateral calcaneal fracture surgery after surgeryapproach using concurrent lateral foot skin and soft tissue defects, bone or steel exposed, and except for lower extremity vascular disease and other reasons. Not enough: left footin6cases,20cases of the right foot. Sanders fractures according to fracture type: Ⅰ type1cases, type Ⅱ9cases, Ⅲ13cases, Ⅳ3cases. Patients hospitalized last surgery time totime is5to10weeks, admission X-ray showed no fracture healing. Admission,17patients suffering from foot fresh granulation tissue, no discharge,9patients sufferingfrom foot wound secretions and varying degrees of infection, wound size:3.5×1.5cm~5.5×2.5cm.Result All patients had not taken internal fixation surgery went smoothly. All patientsflaps survived completely, by the district and the flap donor site wounds were healing Ⅰincision, no patients had postoperative vascular crisis. After6to18months of clinicalfollow-up, the flap is soft, flexible, non-bloated and shoes inconvenience stampede noobvious discomfort, satisfaction and restore the appearance of protective sensation limbs(flaps point discrimination6.5~11mm).12to22weeks after surgery, all patients werehealed fractures. Conclusion It is an easy and simple therapy to cover wound area after the lateralapproach for calcaneal fractures with reversed sural neurovascular fasciocutaneous flap, which can well meet the defect and with good function. The flap has well blood supplyand high survival rate, which could be used extensively.
