Objective:Lung cancer is one of the most threatening malignant tumors.Early diagnosissignificantly improves the survival rate of Patients with lung cancer.Breath detection could be anew,convenient and noninvasive diagnosis method. Using gas chromatographic analyzerz-Nose4300analyzed VOCs in the exhaled breath of101samples,combined with pathologicaland TCM detection of lung cancer for the diagnosis of lung cancer and assess their potentialityfor the diagnosis of lung cancer.Materials and Methods:Breath samples were collected from51patients of The First AffiliatedHospital of Jinan University as experience group,aged25-79years old,34males and17females,lung adenocarcinoma in28cases,18cases of squamous cell carcinoma,small cellcarcinoma of the five cases,large cell lung cancer one case,eight other tumors. TCM types intofour types,4blood stasis of patients,13Yin toxic hot Lung Cancer type of patients,19YinDeficiency type of lung cancer,15Yun-lung phlegm type of lung cancer.Breath samples werecollected from50health people as control group,27males and23females,aged24-78years old,20cases of smokers and30cases of non-smokers. By z-Nose4300gas chromatographicanalyzer,qualitative and quantitative analysis,C6-C14calibration,screen out the VOCs closelyrelated to lung cancer. Further establish the diagnosis model,make sure lung cancer-specificVOCs,and provide more scientific significance of experimental evidence for lung cancer.Results:(1)Ethanol,acetone,benzene,isopropanol showed statistical significance for theconcentration differences between lung cancer and healthy volunteers.(2) Using the multiple independent samples Kruskal-Wallis H test,statistical differences betweenthe concentration of ethanol in three pathological lung cancer,adenocarcinoma (2476.19ng/L),squamous cell carcinoma (1438.41ng/L),small cell lung cancer (2406.93ng/L).(3)4groups TCM specific type of lung cancer VOCs ethanol concentration differences exhaledgases,blood stasis type of lung cancer patients with the highest concentration (39.63ng/L),Yun-lung phlegm type of lung cancer(39ng/L),Yin Deficiency type of lung cancer (19.68ng/L),Yin toxic hot Lung Cancer type of patients has lowest concentration (16.04ng/L).Conclusion:(1)Ethanol,acetone might be the specific VOCs of lung cancer patients. benzene,isopropyl alcohol,isoprene,dimethyl sulfide may be associated with lung cancer. (2) Different pathology in lung cancer patients and different types of TCM,ethanol havedifferent concentration in exhaled breath components.(3) The results will provide an experimental basis for the specificity of VOCs in the earlydiagnosis of lung cancer. but we need in-depth evaluation of the detection system for sensitivity,and expand the sample size.
