Orjevtive: To investigate the clinical value of D-dimer levels in evaluating theseverity and prediction of prognosis in elderly patients with comunity-acquiredpneumonia(CAP).Methods: Collecting the clinical data of112elderly CAP patients in respiratorymedicine of The Affiliated Union Hospital of Fujian Medical University fromSeptember,2012to September,2013. The patients were divided into low risk group, medium risk group and high risk group according to the PSI. At the same time,20healthy subjects were selected as control group. Then determining the D-dimer levelsof plasma and analyzing the differences in different groups. Results:The plasma D-dimer levels of CAP patients is (1.54±1.02) ug/ml, while thecontrol group is (0.28±0.12) ug/ml. There has statistical significance between thedifferences of plasma D-dimer levels in2groups (P <0.01). The plasma D-two dimerlevels of low risk group, medium risk group and high risk group were (1.11±0.56)ug/ml,(1.47±0.42) ug/ml and (3.62±1.23) ug/ml. There also has statisticalsignificance between the differences of plasma D-dimer levels in3groups (P <0.05).And D-dimer levels will increase with the raise of risk level. Conclusion: The level of plasma D-dimer and pneumonia severity of CAP have somerelevance, which can predict the prognosis of CAP patients quickly and easily, and italso can be used as a judgment index.
