Objective:To explore the relationship between the vertebral artery and carotid artery blood flow velocity changes in carotid intimal thickening(IMT) and carotid artery plaque(CAP) formation of Hypertension. Methods:Enrolled from April2012to January2013in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical diagnosis of hypertension in patients with328cases were recorded sex, age, height, weight, line color Doppler ultrasound neck vessels, record vertebral artery (Vertebral artery, VA) and carotid artery (Carotid artery, CA) hemodynamic parameters:peak systolic velocity (peak systolic velocity, PSV), end diastolic velocity (end diastolic velocity, EDV), mean velocity (mean velocity, MDV), systolic and diastolic blood flow velocity ratio (systolic and diastolic blood flow velocity ratio, S/D), pulsatility index (pulsatility index, PI), resistance index (resistance index, RI), and is divided into a group based on ultrasound findings:normal carotid artery (n1=114),2groups:group carotid intimal thickening (n2=85),3groups: group carotid plaques (n3=66) and four groups:carotid intimal thickening and plaque formation group (n4=63). Compared using analysis of variance among the four groups of the general data and hemodynamic parameters, using univariate linear correlation analysis between VA and CA hemodynamic relevance. Results:The left side of the four groups PSV-CA, left S/D-VA, right PSV-CA, right EDV-CA, right MDV-CA, right PI-CA, right RI-CA, right PSV-VA differences (P<0.05). Univariate linear correlation analysis showed, VA on various hemodynamic parameters were associated with CA hemodynamic changes were positively correlated (P<0.05). Conclusion:Hypertensive patients carotid intimal thickening and plaque formation of the vertebral artery and carotid artery hemodynamics has a positive correlation.
