Mechanical properties of the elastic net surface, which was used in the international gymnastics trampoline competition, were tested using static loading. We measured the curve of load verse displacement and flexibility and stiffness of the different position of the elastic net surface, and the equation of stiffness for a quarter of net was determined. The corresponding finite element model was established using shell element in ABAQUS software package. The simulation result showed that displacement and stress remarkably reduced and distributed from center to sides but sharply improved at the edges. In addition, the simulation result fitted well to the experimental data. How to set up a support point for trampoline athletes in the moment of touching net was researched by theoretical analysis. Support point is not fixed which moved in the net surface with the form of the movement and the time. It depends on the end of the action, the complex force system between foot and net and the next movement. Around the point, a dynamic balance system of the friction force, the gravity of people and the rebound force was established by changing body which was controlled by muscles. The optimal moment of leg drive was analyzed by simulating trampoline movement in mathematical modeling. Athlete was suggested to delay interaction time of first stage (i.e., the process of the stretching legs) to get enough displacement of H1. If the athlete weight is lighter and has small power, he should stretch leg ahead of time to get the best displacement,H; If the athlete is heavy and has huge power, he should stretch legs slowly and try his best to push the net to obtain the best H. This investigation presented was expected to give some assistance for the athletic training and the optimization of net.
