Purpose: To compare accuracy of placentalalpha-microglobulin-1(PAMG-1), insulin-like growth factor bindingprotein-1(IGFBP-1) and nitrazine test to diagnose premature rupture ofmembrane (PROM).Methods: Pregnant women with signs/symptoms of membranerupture between11-42weeks were eligible for our study.120pregnantwomen were included to our study and evaluated with PAMG-1,IGFBP-1, and nitrazine test. Results: In120women, the sensitivity, specificity, positivepredictive value, and negative predictive value of PAMG-1, IGFBP-1andnitrazine test were100%,100%,100%, and100%,93.33%,98.89%,96.55%and97.80%,93.33%,94.44%,84.85%,and97.7%. Incomparison of PAMG-1test and nitrazine test, positive coincidence rate was84.85%, negative coincidence rate was97.70%, total coincidencerate was94.17%, and kappa value was0.85. In comparison of PAMG-1test and IGFBP-1test, the positive coincidence rate, negative coincidencerate and total coincidence rate of IGFBP-1test were96.55%,97.80%,and97.50%, and kappa value was0.93.Conclusion: PAMG-1assay was the most accurate method todiagnose premature rupture of membrane with the highest sensitivity, specificity, PPVs and NPVs. |
