Objective:To study the effects of ginsenosides in postoperative gastric cancer patients serum vascular growth factor (VEGF) concentration and evaluate the treatment of patients with gastric cancer by ginsenosides. Methods:Superficial gastritis patients with30cases from outpatient as normal group,42cases of postoperative gastric cancer patients with FOLFOX4chemotherapy as the control group, the other52cases of postoperative gastric cancer patients except with FOLFOX4chemotherapy, at the same time taking ginsenosides for experimental group. The serum vascular growth factor (VEGF) concentration of four groups is detected in different time (one month, three months, six months). and compare the same group at different time points of serum VEGF concentration change, and compares the control group and experimental group patients with postoperative recurrence of tumor recurrence and no relapse patients serum VEGF concentrationResult:Gastric cancer patients with preoperative serum VEGF concentration is significantly higher than normal group (P<0.01), the control group of postoperative serum VEGF concentration decreased significantly, however, it is still significantly higher than normal group (P<0.05), while the experimental group after6months dropped to normal level (P=0.13), significantly lower than control group’s (P<0.05).Experimental postoperative recurrence rate was5.77%after postoperative6months, the recurrence rate is14.29%which was significantly lower than control group (P<0.05).Conclusions:Ginsenosides can obviously reduce postoperative gastric cancer patients serum VEGF concentration, inhibit the growth of gastric cancer cells, and reduce the postoperative recurrence rate in patients with gastric cancer.
