Objective: Investigate the falling characteristics the cognition offalling from doctors, nurses and patients in Chongqing hospitals, Developtargeted health education to prevent the occurrence of falling events.Methods: Based on data analysis of368falling cases from eightChongqing hospital in2011and2012, find out falling characteristics andproduction questionnaire and gave to doctors, nurses and patients fromthese eight hospital for the investigation, used the method of T-test, analysisof variance and Chi Square (χ2) test for the questionnaires for analysis.Results: Patients aged65years or greater falling more, accounting for57.07%; Circulatory system diseases maximum proportion accounted for43.75%, among them, hypertension、 diabetes patients are most prone tofalling; patients are more likely to occur independent during activity falling,accounting for68.75%, and more likely to cause injury; the ratio ofoccurred falling within seven days after admission up to58.70%, night shift(02:01~08:00) occurred falling, accounting for56.52%; the most commonplace of falling is bathroom, accounting for44.02%, and proportion willhight during using the toilet, accounting for56.52%; more falling occured without accompany, accounting for56.52%; patient in poor health mostlikely lead to falling.Nurses have highest recognition for falling features,doctor followed, patients with the lowest, the differences has statisticallysignificant (P<0.001);Nurses’ cognitive degrees from Third-Grade Levelhospital is above than nurses from Second-Grade Level hospital,thedifferences has statistically significant (P=0.025);Doctors believe how longthe patients most likely to occur falling during hospitalization(χ2=13.60,P<0.01) and occurred crowd cognitive degrees below nurse(χ2=13.60,P<0.01);nurse more tendencies think evening shift prone falling.Conclusion: The survey found that there are consistent with thefindings of Chongqing inpatient falling characteristics and other scholars,there are also some differences, it proved that characteristics of patientsfalling have differences in region, hospital size, etc.Survey found that, thecognitions of falling from doctors, nurses and patients were different fromactual results.Cognition were also different among three of them, accordingto the survey results,health education for different objects should beprovided, raise everyone’s awareness, thus using targeted falling preventionmeasures to reduce the incidence of falling.
