Cryotherapy technology has matured in the application of respiratorydisease for many years, but it is limited using freeze probe contact with thetissue directly in airway diseases generally. In1999, endoscopic spraycryotherapy SCT ablation using liquid nitrogen as refrigerant applied to thedigestive tract mucosa for the first time, then applied in the treatment ofesophageal malignancies gradually. CSA Medical Introduces NewtruFreeze Spray Cryotherapy System at DDW Recently. the systemprovides low-pressure liquid nitrogen through the7French flexible conduitwhich can freezes2-3cm target tissues rapidly at the suitable flow settingand distance to the target.SCT has more advantages compaired with the cryoprobe therapy. Spraycryotherapy has even greater scope of treatment, uniform distribution, andcan preserve the integrity tissue extracellular matrix in the treatmentprocess, reduce the fiber hyperplasia, the formation of scar tissue. And alsois conducive to the connective tissue remodeling, which is conducive towound healing, while preserving the integrity of the structure. It shows a good efficacy in patients with respiratory tract, gastrointestinal diseases, such as bronchoscopic, endoscopic and openablation of thoracic tissues, benign airway stenosis. The trachea tumor, bronchus malignant tumor, relieve obstruction from the tumor with thehybrid nitinol/silicone stent placed, refractory asthma, metastaticadenocarcinoma of chest wall, such as Barrett’s’s esophagus, earlyesophageal cancer, squamous epithelial atypical hyperplasia. In this paper,we reviewed its clinical use in respiratory and gastrointestinal diseases, including The background, principle, classification, mechanism, treatmentequipment, operation method, matters needing attention, prospect oftherapeutic dose, potential risks and corresponding strategy, adversereactions and treatment, prospect.
