| Objective: The aim of this study is to validate the accuracy andvalidity of HER2assessment on endoscopic biopsies and lymph nodemetastases by comparing with surgical material from the same patients. Thesecond intention is to analyze the relationship between primary tumor andclinicpathologic features of gastric cancer. Methods: HER2status was evaluated by Gastric cancer HER2testingguidelines in107cases of gastric cancers in coupled endoscopic biopsiesand surgical material, also in76cases of Corresponding Lymph NodeMetastases. Then the testing results were compared and analyzed. Results: Complete concordance of HER2status on endoscopic biopsyversus surgical samples(n=107) was noted in86.9%of cases. it isconsistent between the two different samples(Z=6.3813, P<0.0001).Respectively, primary gastric cancer and corresponding Lymph NodeMetastases also has the uniformity(Z=3.0274,P=0.0025). The positive rate of HER2was significantly associated with Lauren type, tumor histologicalgrade, depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis, and TNM stage. Conclusion: There was a high concordance between primary tumorand biopsy specimen(endoscopic biopsies and Lymph Node Metastases), inwhich the predictive value of HER2status is high. We are wondering whatkind of criteria is the most suitable for HER2status assessment in lymphnodes in order to improve the HER2diagnosis system of gastric cancer.HER2status is correlated with invasion and metastasis of cancer. |
