Objective:To explore the clinical application and significance ofpelvic exenteration in the locally advanced pelvic malignances.Methods: Nineteen patients with cervical cancer in4, ovarian cancerin7, rectal cancer in6, pelvic floor liposarcoma in1, and malignantumbilical tire in1, who underwent pelvic exenteration at the First affiliatedhospital of Chongqing medical university between2011and2013wereretrospectively analyzed.Result:The surgical bleeding was100to3000ml. No perioperativedeaths. Infection of incision occurred in3of19cases. Urinary tractinfection occurred in4of19cases. Pelvic infection occurred in3of19cases. Bowel obstruction occurred in1of19cases. All of them weretreated through conservative treatment. The6,12-months disease-freesurvival was17,11cases, respectively.Conclusions:(1) Patients with pelvic malignances can be successfullytreated with pelvic exenteration;(2) The patients should be properlyselected prior to operation, and the radical resection of pelvic malignancesis important in improving the long-term survival rate.
