Objective To objectively evaluate the intrusion effects on the maxillaryincisors of implants versus conventional method(J-hook headgear, utilityarch).Methonds Such online databases as Cochrane Library, PubMed,EMbase,VIP,Wanfang and CNKI were searched by randomized controltest(RCT) and prospective case controlled study (CCS)about implantsvs conventional anchorage for the maxillary incisor intrusion. After studyselection, ass essment and data extraction conducted,meta-analyses wereperformed by using the RevMan5.1software.Outcome Totally eleven studies were included, six studies involving154patients were included in the J-hook headgear group, five studiesinvolving127patients were included in the utility arch group. The results ofmeta-a nalyses showed that:①C ompared with the J-hookheadgear,implants had more decrement in the distance of upper centerincisior cutting to palatal plane [95%CI (0.87,1.83) P<0.00001],moredecrement in overbite[95%CI(0.33,1.38) P=0.001],shorter treatment time [95%CI (-4.85,-2.85) P<0.00001],less increase in SN-OP angle[95%CI (-2.49,-0.47)P=0.004],less decrement in distance ofmaxillary molar cusp to palatal plane[95%CI(-0.25,-0.01)P=0.03];There was no statistically significantdifference in overjet,r oot resorption(P>0.05).②C ompared withtheutility arch, implants had more decrement in the distance of the center ofresistance of the upper incisor to palatalplane[95%CI (0.12,0.93)P=0.01],less increase in U6-PP angle[95%CI (-11.43,-5.33) P<0.00001];There was no statisticallysignificant difference in the distance of upper center incisior cutting topalatal plane,U1-PP angle, the distance of upper first Molar cutting topalatal plane, sagittal position of the mesial tip of the upper first Molar, overbite, overjet, course of treatment, root resorption (p>0.05).Conclusion The implants anchorage intruded the maxillary incisorwas better than conventional method (J-hook headgear, utility arch),it hasmore incisor intrusion, shorter treatment time and more comfortable forthe patients, there was no difference in root resorption between the twogroups.
