Objective:To identify patterns of clinical presentation, imaging findings, and etiologies in acohort of hospitalized patients with localized nontraumatic convexal subarachnoidhemorrhage.so as to promote the public’s greater awareness and knowledge of thelocalized nontraumatic convexal subarachnoid hemorrhage. Methods:Three patients with localized nontraumatic convexal subarachnoid hemorrhagewere identified at our department.Retrospective review of patient medical recordsand eight months to eighteen months follow-up data were performed.Meanwhile, theclinical presntation imaging finding, etiologies and outcome of nontraumaticconvexal subarachnoid hemorrhage were analyzed according to the data from ourpatients and the review of the literature. Results:Linear hyperintensity on fluid-attenuated inversion recovery MRI were0bservedin both patients wllile their CTA, MRA, MRV and other imagings werenormal.Clinical presentation Varied from seizure to Verigo.Three patient wereasymptomatic during the follow-up and no signal abnormality was demonstrated onrepeat head MRI.Conclusion:The localized nontraumatic convexal subarachnoid hemorrhage is an important subtype of nonaneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage with diverse etiologies.Clinicalpresentation neuroradiological findings, and treatment differ largely from the majorityof SAHs which deserve our particular attention.
