There are about200species of Polyathia in the world, only17species are distributed inChina and the Polyalthia obliqua is an endemic plant in Hainan province. There were a seriesof compounds isolated from the genus Polyathia, such as terpenoids and alkaloids. In ourprevious work on this genus,14compounds were isolated from the roots of P. oblique. Thispaper we will get further study of the chemical composition from the stem and leaves of P.oblique in order to provide a theoretical basis for developing and utilizing P. oblique.30compounds (1–30) were isolated and puried from stems and leaves of P. oblique bymeans of silica gel column chromatography, Sephadex LH-20, preparative thin layerchromatography and recrystallization etc. The structures of the isolated compounds wereidentified by spectrum technology (NMR, HRESIMS, HR and UV), their physicochemicalproperties and compared with literature reports.20-hydroxy-euphorbol-7-one(1),15α-hydroxy-euphorbol-7,11-dione(2), Euphorbol-7-one(3), Suberosol(4),Stigmasta-3,6-dione(5), Stigmast-4-ene-3,6-dione(6), Stigmast-4-ene-6α-ol-3-one(7),6α-hydroxy-stigmasta-4,22-diene-3-one(8), Stigmasterol(9), Friedelin(10), Epifriedelinol(11),Marcanine A(12), Isooncodine(13), Oxylopinine(14),7-Hydroxy-l-methyl-4-azafluoren-9-one(15),8-Hydroxyonychine(16), Pendulamine A(17),3,5-Dimethoxy-4-hydroxybenzaldehyde(18), Hydroquinone(19), Vanillin(20),9,12-linoleicacid(21),3,4-Dihydroxybenzoic acid (22),1,2,4-benzenetri(23),2,5-Cyclohexadiene-1,4-dione (24), Syringic acid(25), melissic acid(26),4-Hydroxybenzoicacid(27),4-Hydroxybenzaldehyde(28),(Z)-10-Heneicosenoic acid(29),5-Hydroxy-1-methyl-4-azafluoren-9-one(30). Compounds (1) and (2) were new compounds.In addition to (4),(12) and (20), the other compounds were isolated from this plant for thefirst time. There were three kinds of compounds with (1)(11) for terpenoids,(12)(17)and (30) for alkaloids and (18)(29) for other compounds.The tests showed that compound4exhibited activity against Bacillus cereus with MICvalues of0.125μg/mL which stronger than ciprofloxacin (MIC values of0.313μg/mL).Compounds12and13exhibited moderate cytotoxic activity against B16F10and A549.
