Objective:To compare the efficacy of bortezomib based chemotherapy and conventional chemotherapy for untreated multiple myeloma (MM).Methods:The clinical data of patients admitted to Subei People’s Hospital from December2009to December2013were retrospectively analyzed after blood biochemical examination, bone marrow cytology, immunofixation electrophoresis and imaging check. The DS stage of34untreated patients with confimed MM were made, of which34patients received more than2times regular chemotherapy were divided into2groups:17patients were treated with bortezomib based chemotherapy.17cases of control group were treated with traditional chemotherapy. Observe the clinical characteristics of MM patients’gender, age, typing, compare the effectiveness of two chemotherapy regiments. Results:The comparison of baseline between two groups showed that the difference of gentle, age, immunophenotyping DS stage in two groups was not significant(P>0.05). In bortezomib group and non-bortezomib group, the at least very good response rate and were82.4%vs29.4%. There was a significant difference in at least very good response rate between the two groups(P<0.05). The difference of complete response rate and overall response rate in the two groups was not significant(P>0.05).ConclusionBortezomib based chemotherapy was more effective than traditional chemotherapy with higher disease control rate, which can be preferable choice for the treatment of MM. There is marked correlation with effectiveness, the course of treatment and PFS(P<0.05).
