Purpose To investigate the significance of HDAC2protein expression on prognostic evaluation of uterine cervical adenocarcinoma.Materials and Methods Total98cases of cervical lesion archive wax block, including47cases of cervical carcinoma,31cases of cervical glands intraepithelial neoplasia (CGIN) and20cases of normal cervical epithelium tissue, were selected in this study. Immunohistochemistry for HDAC2protein was done in all above cases, and clinicopathological significance was alos analyzed. Results The positive rates of HDAC2protein were significantly higher in CGIN (51.6%16/31)and cervical adenocarcinoma (82.9%,39/47) compared with the normal cervical epithelia (20.0%,4/20); and the strongly positive rates of HDAC2protein were also higher in CGIN (41.9%,13/31) and cervical adenocarcinoma (65.9%,31/47) than in normal cervical epithelia (p <0.01). Additionally, HDAC2expression was statistically correlated with the differentiation (P<0.05、metastasis of the cervical adenocarcinoma (P<0.01), and survival rate of5-year(P<0.01).Conclusions HDAC2overexpression might be a new biomarker for poor prognostic evaluation of cervical adenocarcinoma.
