Chinese herbal medicine using in the Reinforcing Method is mostly sweet anddelicious, on the other side Chinese herbal medicine which is used in PurgativeMethod is mostly bitter so that the patient do not like eating. Chine herbal medicineused in purgative method is usrally fierce and likely to hurt the body, so that doctor donot like to use the medicine in purgative method. In the modern time, the publicopinion and the Networks and Media are both promoting reinforcing method. In thisway, the purgative method is darked and cound not play its role in dealing with illness.In order to correct the modern time false, this paper is trying to study source ofthe Purgative Method, the development of the Purgative Method, the herbal medicineusing in the Purgative Method and the clinical application of the Purgative Method sothat we can promote the clinical application of the Purgative Method in prevention andtreatment of illness.This paper is using the method of literature research. By studying the PurgativeMethod in “Treatise on Febrile Diseases”, by studying many books which is theinterpretation of the “Treatise on Febrile Diseases” after the Han Dynasty, and bystudying theory of the the Purgative Method of many famous Chinese TraditionalMedicine after the Han Dynasty, by studying the medical records of the using of thePurgative Method, this paper illustrate the Purgative Method conscientiously.By seriously studying the origin and development of the Purgative Method, andby conscientiously studying the medical records of the using of the the PurgativeMethod, the paper makes the result. The result is that the Purgative Method as a bigway to dealing with illness in Chinese traditional medicine has the character of usingfierce Chinese herbal medicine and can quickly cure the disease. It also can correct thefalse of the excess use of the Reinforcing Method. But is indeed has the shortcomingsof hurt blood and the shortcomings of too hard, so the paper point out in order to usethe Purgative Method correctly we must according to the clinical fact and must usingdialectical treatment of the Chinese medicine and combine with other method. Inthis way the Purgative Method can play its correctly role in prevention and treatmentof illness.
