ObjectivesTo further study the possible effects of metformin on hepatoma cells SMMC-7721aboutmetastasis,we prepare to evaluate the effects of metformin on the migration and invasion ofhepatoma cells SMMC-7721, as well as to explore the possible molecular target involvedby which metformin exerts its effects.Methodshepatoma cells SMMC-7721are cultured to test the effects of different concentrations ofmetformin on migration and invasion.Results1. Metformin suppresse hepatoma cells SMMC-7721migration vitro.Wound-healing migration is performed, and metformin-treated group shows reducedmigrated cell numbers in hepatoma cells SMMC-7721.2. Metformin decrease hepatoma cells SMMC-7721invasion in vitro.Metformin-treated group shows decreased invasion cell numbers in hepatoma cellsSMMC-7721were obtained in Matrigel-coated transwell invasion assay.Conclusion1. hepatoma cells SMMC-7721are the aggressive cells.2. Metformin suppresses hepatoma cells SMMC-7721migration and invasion in vitro.
