Objective: To investigate the relationship between liver in TCM and basal segmentregion by the CT scanning technique. Methods: A prospective cohort study of166patients with cerebral hemorrhage causedthe hypertension in Zhongmu People Hospital were designed. We classified liver Yanghyperactivity、Yin deficiency wind act in attack on meridian and wind fire causing mentalconfusion in attack on viscera into liver group. The radiologists classified the CT of thegroups: Cerebral hemorrhage on the basal segment region and on the other segment region.Cerebral hemorrhage occurred on the basal segment region were117cases and on the othersegment region were49cases, liver group were124cases and non-liver group were42cases. According to a survey of the data collected, we analyzed the correlation betweenliver and basal ganglia. Results: All the patients underwent the CT examination and got satisfactory CT scans.Using Pearson chi-square to research the data statistical analysis, we could get the results: x2=44.8111, P=0.000, gamma=0.47. We could find that the liver had correlation with thecerebral hemorrhage on the basal segment region. Conclusion: Patients with hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage who were diagnosed asliver Yang hyperactivity、Yin deficiency wind act in attack on meridian and wind fire causingmental confusion in attack on viscera occurred on basal segment region on the other regionsof brain. And on the other hand, the patients who suffered hypertensive hemorrhage of basalsegment region mostly had liver disorder in TCM syndrome differentiation. So, in this studywe considered that liver in CT were associated with hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage on basal ganglia region. The study illustrated the liver in TCM were corresponded with the basalganglia region in brain. We could investigate the relationship between liver in TCM and basalsegment region by the CT scanning technique. By extension, we could use the modern CTtechnique to explore the corresponding relationship between TCM five viscera and otherareas of the brain. It could make CT technology be better, more intuitive dialectical toolswhich beyond the four diagnoses in traditional Chinese medicine.
