ObjectiveTo explore the clinical regularity of traditional Chinese medicine in the diagnosis and treatment of psoriasis via the exploration of some related literature and medical records with the text mining technique. The potential clinical regularity will be helpful for the clinical work and related research in the future.Methods1. Data of the psoriatic involved skin lesion status, four diagnostic information, pathology, etiology and treatment methods of psoriasis have been observed through the exploration of some related literature and medical records from the Dermatology monograph and literature Datebase.2. Access database was established to collect date about the medical records. All the data above were processed by software SPSS Clementine12.0. The clinical regularity of traditional Chinese medicine in the diagnosis and treatment of psoriasis has been obtained using the text mining technique via the analysis and observation of the relationship between different herbs, four diagnostic information and herbs, as well as herbs and the pathology of psoriasis.Results1.24herbs,12diagnostic informations,8etiological factors,23pathologies emerging with high frequency has been found. The herb used in the treatment of psoriasis usually have the function of clearing heat, detoxification, cooling blood, removing fire, tonifying deficiency. The12diagnostic informations are mainly performing heat syndrome and blood stasis syndrome. The8etiological factors include successively cough, catching cold, poor mood, drinking alcohol, defatigation. The23pathologies include successively blood heat syndrome, blood-stasis and toxin syndrome, yin deficiency syndrome, blood deficiency syndrome, dampness heat syndrome, qi and blood stasis syndrome, stomach and spleen deficiency syndrome as well as catching cold syndrome.2. From the canonical correlation analysis, we found18pair of herbs,21correlations between diagnostic information and herb,19correlations between pathology and herb.Conelusion1.This study summarizes the contemporary herbs of psoriasis medical records, skin lesions status, four diagnostic information, etiological factors, pathologies, etc. By comparing with the current medicine textbooks and monographs comparison, it gives some new information, such as:The oral prescriptions covers5new prescriptions besides the four commom prescriptions sucha as the Xijiaodihuang decoction. The pathologies of stomach and spleen deficiency syndrome may be one of the pathologies. This result will be helpful for the clinical work and related research in the future.2. Text mining technique is an effective way in the exploration of clinical regularity of traditional Chinese medicine in the diagnosis and treatment of psoriasis. The method of frequency analysis and canonical correlation analysis used in this research not only justify some clinical regularity reported by previous literatures, but also revealed some clinical regularity undiscovered before. For example, the analysis of10new pairs of herbs shows that the matched herbs have the similar pharmacology mechanism. The analysis of the2new correlations between diagnostic information and herb shows that Rehmannia, Cortex Moutan Radix Paeoniae Rubra, Glycyrrhiza uralensis should be the first choice in the treatment of psoriasis for the patient with yin deficiency syndrome. The analysis of2new correlations between pathology and herb shows that for a blood deficiency patient, herbs like Spatholobus Suberectus Dunn, Angelica Root, Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae Glycyrrhiza uralensis are more effective than others, otherwise, for the patient exhibited a blood-stasis and toxin syndrome, Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae and Lithospermum erythrorhizon should be Preferred.
