Objective:To investigation the lipid-lowering effects of soybean isoflavones (SI) on hyperlipidemia rat’s serum, and explore the mechanism of SI against experimental hyperlipidemia. Methods:Sixty SD rats were randomly divided into six groups:nomal group, positive control group model group, low dose of Soybean Isoflavones treatment group, intermediate dose of Soybean Isoflavones treatment group and high dose of Soybean Isoflavones treatment group.Through the copy dietary hyperlipidemia model, the determination the effect of SI low dose group (30mg/kg/d), intermediate dose of SI group (100mg/kg/d) and SI high dose group (300mg/kg/d) on TC, TG, HDL-C, LDL-C, GSH-PX, SOD, MDA, T-AOC level in serum of rats with hyperlipidemia model by enzyme kinetic method. Results:High serum lipid model rats in TC, TG, LDL-C increased significantly, while the HDL-C level in the serum decreased significantly, compared with the normal group, p<0.01; SI, high and intermediate dose group decreased significantly in serum of rats with hyperlipidemia model in TC, TG, LDL-C, HDL-C levels, compared with the model group p<0.05and p<0.01; the level of MDA in the rats of high serum lipid model significantly increased, SOD, GSH-Px and T-AOC levels were significantly lower, compared with the normal group, p<0.01; SI high and intermediate dose group significantly decreased the level of serum MDA in hyperlipidemia rats model, the increase of SOD, GSH-Px and T-AOC levels in the serum, compared with model group, p<0.05and p<0.01.Conclusions:1. SI can significantly decrease the serum TC, TG, LDL-C levels, increase the concentration of HDL-C in hyperlipidemia rats2. SI can significantly increase the serum SOD, GSH-PX activity, decrease the level of MDA, increase the level of T-AOC in hyperlipidemia rats3. SI has obvious effects on reducing blood lipid in hyperlipidemia rats, and antioxidation may be the possible mechanism.
