Expression And Significance Of EPCAM In Prostate Carcinoma And Prostate Intraepithelial Neoplasms

Objectives:To explore theexpression of EpCAM in prostate cancer (PCa), prostate intraepithelial neoplasms (PIN) and its clinical significance. To explore the relationship between the high neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and bone metastasis of PCa.Methods:Expression of EpCAM in63of PCa,46of PIN and58of adjacent benign tissue of PCa were determined by immunohistochemistry, and to explore the relationship between the neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR) with histological type, metastasis, PSA in110cases of PCa patients.Results:(1)The positive expression rate of EpCAMin epithelioid cell of PCa, PIN were higher than in benign gland of PCa adjacent tissue (P<0.01).(2)The positive expression rate of EpCAM in stromal cell of PCa were higher than in IN of PCa adjacent tissue(P<0.01).(3)There is a lack of significant differences between the expression rate of EpCAM in highlyand pooly differentiated group(P>0.05).(4)The positive expression rate of EpCAM in stromal cells was higher in bone metastasis group than in non-bone metastasis group (P<0.05).(5)PCa preoperative NLR and clinicopathological factors are related. The each PSA levels in the high and the low NLR groups has statistics significance(P<0.05).Conclusion:The positive expression rate of EpCAM in stromal cell of PCa are related to the bonemetastasis of PCa, it may become a predictor for bone metastasis of PCa. EpCAM suppressed EMT through inhibited the expression of EpCAM, and contribute to Gene therapy of PCa.
