PurposeTo disscuss the relativity between Apgar of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE)and Fraction anisotropy (FA),average diffusion coefficient (DCavg)on diffusion tensorimaging (DTI) separately.MethodsA total of42full-term neonates divided into2groups(≤7days and>7days),and theboth group were divided into A,B,C groups (Group A is normal and control group neonates, neurological examination was negative, Apgar at5thwas8-10; Group B and C areexperimental group, and the Apgar were4-7and <4separately at5thminute. All theneonates were underwent DTI,and FA, DCavgvalues were measured on all ROI.Results1. In≤7days group, intraobserver comparison showed a relativity between Apgar andFA,DCavgvalues separately (p<0.05), especially in PLIC (p<0.01); in most of ROI, therelativity between DCavgvalues and Apgar is higher than that of FA; FA, DCavgvalues ofGroup B and C were lower than Group A(p<0.05).2. In>7days group, there was not asignificant difference of FA values compared with≤7days group; intraobserver comparisonshowed a relativity between Apgar and FA values in all ROI, however the relativity nothappened in DCavgvalues; FA values of Group B and C was lower than these of Group A.ConclusionThese results indicate that DCavgvalues associate with Apgar, HIE stage and differentcerebral region.; DCavgvalues explored could reflect acute HIE pathologic processes. The links between FA values and HIE stage seems little, but associate with Apgar and differentcerebral region, and could reflect HIE pathologic processes.
