| Objective:By observing the quantity of occlusal contact points on intercuspal position ofyoung people individual normal occlusion, its general distribution law was probed, so asto provide reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment.Method:Subjects with normal occlusion of occlusal contact, were chosen and consisted of80(40male and40female) Dalian Medical University students and Dalian StomatologyHospital doctors, average age22. ImpregumTM GarantTM LDuoSoft TM polyetherimpression material was applied to record occlusal contact points of intecuspal positionof subjects. Results:Average quantity of occlusal contact points on intercuspal position of normalocclusion was77.8, in which21.2in anterior area, and56.6in posterior area. Occlusalcontact points distribution were symmetry between left and right, of which maxillaryfirst molar were the most and infradentale were the least. There were extensive occlusalcontacts in anterior area.Premolars occlusal contact type was mainly cuspid to twomarginal ridges; the highest frequency of occurrence and largest proportion of occlusal contact was buccal surface of mesiolingual cusp of maxillary first molarConclusion:Through researching into the occlusal contact points on the intercuspal position ofindividual normal occlusion, the quantity of occlusal contact points and its distributionlaw is discovered and has clinical significance, being worthy of reference for the doctorsin the clinical work. |
