Objective:To explore the effect of neoadjuvant chemotherapy on advanced epithelial ovarian cancer.Methods:93patients with advanced epithelial ovarian cancer were divided into two groups. The NACT group,42patients received intravenous chemotherapy before operation. In control group,51patients were operated directly. All the patients in both groups received same chemotherapy regimens after operation. Observed efficacy, operation time, blood loss, surgical residue and the level of CA125/HE4to evaluate the safety and efficacy of neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Results In NACT group, the total effective rates in the patients with advanced epithelial ovarian cancer were61.90%;the satisfied cytoreductive rate78.57%%.They were significantly better than the control group. The mean operative time (127.211±27.62) min, intraoperative mean blood loss (408.5±112.62) ml and of the level of CA125(165.26±43.27) U/ml and HE4(197.65±89.34) pmol/L of the observation group were significantly better than the control group(P<0.05). Three years survival rate of two groups were55.4%and43.6%in observation group and control group, respectively with significant difference. There was no significant difference between two groups in five years survival rate(33.1%and28.7%).Conclusion:Neoadjuvant chemotherapy can play a positive role for the treatment of patients with advanced epithelial ovarian cancer.
