Abstract/Summary:
Objective:To explore the operation method and clinical effect of free medial plantar venous flap to repair the skin and soft tissue defect of the finger.Methods:From2010March to2012April,2009,29cases(31fingers) with the finger tissue defects in different parts were treated with medial plantar venous flaps, including finger tip defects in11cases13fingers, finger back defect in7cases of7fingers, finger pulp defects in11cases of11fingers. The size of soft tissue defects ranged froml.2cm x1.5cm to2.5cm×3.5cm. The31medial plantar venous flaps, with size of1.5cm x2cm~3×4cm, were harvested to restore defects. The donor sites were covered with full thickness skin graft. Results:All the31venous flaps survived completely, including1cases of flap postoperative arterial crisis, and2flaps developed venous risk, which survived after timely vascular exploration and vascular anastomosis again. The donor and recipient sites were healed by first intention, and skin grafts survived. Twenty-four cases(26fingers) followed up for4to12month and5cases were lost to follow-up. The texture and color of the flaps were similar to those of adjacent normal skin with a satisfactory appearance. The two—point discrimination was8-10mm. According to TAM standard, the results were excellent in18cases and good in6case; the excellent and good rate was100%.Conclusion:The medial plantar venous flap has advantages of good effect, less damage to donor site and high survival rate. So it is is a ideal method to repair the finger skin and soft tissue defect.
