Objective: To evaluate the feasibility and the security of chimney technique inendovascular aortic repair(ER)of aortic disease.Methods: Analyze that using chimney technique debranching(11left subclavianarteries,3left common carotid arteries,2left subclavian artery and left commoncarotid arteries,1renal artery) we extended the landing zone of stent graft in17cases(12type stanford B aortic dissections;1thoracic aortic intramural hematoma;2thoracic aortic aneurysms;1thoracic aortic pseudoaneurysm;1case of abdominalaortic aneurysm) from January2012to December2013in the first Affiliated Hospitalof Fujian Medical University, Vascular Surgery,and evaluate the feasibility and thesecurity of chimney technique. There are15male and2female among the17cases,average age of (63.00±12.02) years old(43-48year).Results: All endovascular procedures were successful and all branches with chinmeystents were patent.3dissections were complicated with type I endo-leak and1AAAwere complicated with Ⅲ type I endo-leak.One type stanford B aortic dissectionpatient died from severe stroke, multiple organ failure.No endoleak occured in theother patients.Excepting1dissection(no endoleak) lost and1dissection died afterproceduce,15patients were followed up from2weeks to six months,averaging(3.01±1.89) monthes, chimney stents were patent and did not migrate as proved byCTA.Endoleak has still existed in3dissections,endoleak in1AAA patient haddisappeared,thrombosis developed between the aneurysm and stent in the otherpatients.Conclusions: In extending the landing zone and keeping branches patent in EVAR ofaortic aneurysms,the chimney technique is safe and effective。Long term effect needs further follow-up and observation....
