Objective: To investigate the short-term effect of laparoscopic resection of colorectal cancer. Methods: Retrospective reviewed1829clinical cases with colorectal cancer in gastrointestinal surgery of our hospital from August2006to August2013,of which1303underwent laparoscopic surgery (laparoscopy group),526routine abdominal surgery (open group). Comparing operative time, blood loss, number of lymph node dissection and postoperative gastrointestinal function recovery time, postoperative hospital stay, postoperative complications, hospital costs between the two groups. Results: The operative blood loss, postoperative recovery time of gastrointestinal function and postoperative hospital stay in the laparoscopic group was significantly lower than the open group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05), but the operative time, number of lymph nodes and the total cost of hospitalization had no statistical difference(P>0.05). About postoperative complications, the rate of bowel obstruction, anastomotic leakage, anastomotic bleeding, pulmonary infection and abdominal infection had no significant difference(P>0.05), but the rate of wound complication in the laparoscopic group was significantly lower than the open group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion: Laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer has small trauma, rapid postoperative recovery, and a good short-term effect.
