| Objective: To investigate the relationships between anemia and efficiency ofpatients with advanced gastric cancer treated by FOLFOX6.Methods: The changesof hemoglobin before and after chemotherapy, therapeutic effect, time to progressand clinical factors of94cases with advanced gastric cancer were retrospectivelyanalyzed. Explore the relationship between anemia and clinical factors, analysis theeffect of anemia on therapeutic effect, prognosis. Result: According to univarieteanalysis, PS score, gender, tumor metastasis and pathological differentiation wereclosely related to pre-treatment cancer-related anemia. The incidence of anemia after2-cycle FOLFOX6chemotherapy was significantly higher than that beforechemotherapy (60.6%vs30.8%, P<0.05). chemotherapy efficacy in patients withanemia pre-chemotherapy were significantly lower than that in patients withoutanemia pre-chemotherapy (27.6%vs52.5%, P<0.05). chemotherapy efficacy inpatients with anemia after chemotherapy were significantly lower than that inpatients without anemia after chemotherapy (31.6%vs64.9%,P<0.05).Cancer-related anemia had a negative effect on the prognosis of patients, the time to progress of cancer-related anemia patients was significantly shorter thanthose without anemia (4.5months vs8months, P<0.05),and the time to progress ofwithout cancer-related anemia patients before and after chemotherapy wassignificantly longer than those without anemia before with anemia afterchemotherapy (8months vs5.5months, P<0.05). the time to progress of patientswithout anemia before with anemia after chemotherapy was significantly longer thanthose with anemia before and after chemotherapy(5.5months vs4.5months, P<0.05);the time to progress of patients without anemia before chemotherapy wassignificantly longer than those with anemia before chemotherapy(7.3months vs4.5months, P<0.05). Conclusions: advanced gastric cancer patients had a higherincidence of anemia, especially the incidence of chemotherapy-related anemia,PSscore, gender, tumor metastasis and pathological differentiation were relatedwith cancer-related anemia. advanced gastric cancer patients with anemia had lowerchemotherapy efficacy, and shorter time to progress. |
